Dr Sreeram Prasad is one among the few qualified movement disorders specialist in the country. He established the Comprehensive care center for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders at Lourdes Hospital, Cochin, the first of its kind in Central Kerala. He is the first movement disorders specialist in the country to do a Movement Disorders Surgical Fellowship, exclusively dedicated to Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). He runs a very successful DBS program at the DBS center at Lourdes Hospital, Cochin.
Movement disorder
Group of nervous system (neurological) conditions that cause abnormal increased movements, which may be voluntary or involuntary. Movement disorders can also cause reduced or slow movements.
Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a central nervous system (neurological) disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal, causing seizures or periods of unusual behavior, sensations and sometimes loss of awareness.
